We've set out below careers events that are up and coming in our region, that may be of interest to students and families to join in.  They will also be promoted in school. 
 
Pathways into STEM’ LIVE career chats activity

Wednesday 3rd March at 10.30 – 11.30 am

This virtual interactive session is aimed at post-16, and will feature a panel of STEM employers talking about their job roles, different pathways into STEM and the skills they have developed along the way. Each employer will share their story, followed by Q&A with the students. Whether joining from home or from the classroom, students can ask questions via the secure ‘chat box’ live to the employers.
 
 
A Day in the life of a Museum

Thinking about a museum career? Find out what people do & how they got there with help from the National Science and Media Museum. If you want to know more about what it's like to work in a museum (especially one linked to science) and the different roles that exist then please join us on the 5th March. Find out what a Visitor Insight Officer does. How did the Head of Learning start out? What is a curatorial role all about? What is an Interpretation Manager? Do you need science qualifications to work in a science museum? Do you have to have a history degree to work in a museum? You will meet a number of different colleagues from the museum. Find out what they do and how they started on their career paths! We hope that you can join us.
 
North East Virtual Careers Fair

The Virtual Careers Fair will cover all major cities and towns of the North East including Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Darlington, Gateshead, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, South Shields, Stockton-on-Tees and more. The aim is to efficiently speed up connecting young people to employers in real time and all in one place. The event itself will be live and accessible to anyone and everyone looking for a career between the hours of 10am to 2pm. My Skills My Life

Complete the My Skills My Life Quiz https://myskillsmylife.org.uk/sign-in to discover your personality type, and see how your skills match up to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) careers. Connect with real people in STEM careers who have the same personality as you. What do they do? What do they earn? How did they get there? It’s all about your skills, and how you can make them work for your life. This is an interactive session, please ensure you have completed the quiz prior to the session so you are best prepared to take part in activities and discussion with the role models.
 
Engie Inspiring Women Careers Talk and Q&A

This event is offered by the STEM Ambassador Hub Transpennine.
 
Join Amy, Abigail, Charlotte and Lucy to find out more about their interesting career paths. This event is for female students.
 
Amy – A Social Value Coordinator, handles the Social Value team enquires that are general, updates all our administrative documents and is basically the heart and hub of our team as without her we would struggle! Amy is also a qualified Electrician and did this ahead of joining our team. She has a mixed background through working on site and in the office.
 
Abigail – Apprentice RLO (Resident Liaison Officer) currently completing her apprenticeship- Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner and is near the end. She works on site inducting and liaising with tenants and the site team on a project in Selby.
 
Charlotte – Assistant Quantity Surveyor, currently studying her Level 6 BSc Quantity Surveying (Hons) (Degree Apprenticeship). Charlotte works on site and from the office. Lucy – General Foreman. Recently qualified and is looking to continue her studying in due course. Lucy works on site with the site team alongside the Site Managers and the rest of the team, operatives and subcontractors.
 
Careers in Nursing Taster Day

Careers in Nursing Taster Day with Health Education England About this Event Have you thought about becoming a nurse? If you want to explore various nursing career options, this event will help you discover the next steps towards your ideal career. Speed Meet with a selection of nurses in different specialisms. There will be the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about study pathways or career routes available to you in the chat box. Explore what "Values-Based Recruitment" is and how you can use your life experiences to enrich your personal statements and improve your applications through our tips and hints during the day. The Taster Day will be broken up into sessions, but for the best experience it would be great to have your attendance for the full day.
 
 
Nuclear Industry Career Talk from Nuclear Graduates and Q&A

This event will discuss the experience of nuclearvision a team part of the nuclear graduate programme. This event will consist of the members of nuclearvision, a team part of the nuclear graduate programme, going through their experiences working in different aspects of the nuclear industry. The sponsor companies include, Rolls-Royce, Sellafield, the NDA and Magnox, all major companies in the UK nuclear industry. All of the team members are recent university graduates and were in similar positions to College students not too long ago.
 
Careers at DePuy Synthes Q and A panel

DePuy Synthes is a global leader in orthopedics forming part of the Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices group. Explore the variety of job roles available at DePuy Sythes who design, test, manufacture and market joint replacements, primarily for hips and knees. This is an interactive Q and A panel with staff and students on their graduate programe: Design Engineers, Bioengineers Senior Scientist, Biomechanics Test Lab and Logistics. 
 
UK University & Apprenticeship Search Virtual Fair

Wednesday 17th March

The event for students in Years 11, 12 and 13, will feature university exhibitors (100+) and a range of vital webinars. There is an exciting feature which enables users to view virtual tours of exhibitors’ university campuses.
