FOLLOWING THE EASTER BREAK, THE GOVERNMENT HAVE ISSUED FURTHER GUIDANCE ABOUT THE CONTINUING RESTRICTIONS ON SCHOOLS.

The DfE announced that schools, further education and early years providers, including nurseries and childminders will remain closed from Monday 20th April 2020, except for children of key workers and vulnerable children for at least a further three weeks.

The DfE is also asking schools, colleges, nurseries, childminders and other registered childcare settings to remain open for children of critical workers and vulnerable children where they can.

Nunnykirk School has contacted all of its families and has a current list of children who fall into the categories above, who will be attending school from Tuesday 21st April 2020. Consequently Nunnykirk School will remain OPEN for as long as it is able to operate the school safely. We will keep all families informed of any change to this advice.

For those who are attending school the same advice as before applies:
1) Staff, young people and children should stay at home if they are unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature to avoid spreading infection to others. Otherwise they should attend as normal.
2) If staff, young people or children become unwell on site with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature they will be sent home.
3) We will clean and disinfect regularly touched objects and surfaces more often than usual using our standard and anti-bac cleaning products
4) Children will be encouraged and where necessary supervised, to ensure they wash their hands for 20 seconds more often than usual with soap and water or hand sanitiser and catch coughs and sneezes in tissues. Posters and lesson plans on general hand hygiene have already been provided across school.
5) Unless we are directly advised to close by the local Public Health England Health Protection Team, we will remain open as long as it is safe for the school to continue to operate.

PLEASE SEE THE ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE IN THE PARENT ZONE SECTION ON KEEPING YOUR CHILD SAFE ONLINE IF THEY ARE BEING EDUCATED AT HOME DURING THIS TIME.
